Samuel Waine was born on 27 August 1837, the second surviving son of Edward Waine of Marple. He married Margaret Gresty and they had two sons William and Joseph and five daughters, May, Martha, Rhoda (Annie), Ada and Helen Samuel and Margaret are pictured left (seated centre) with Ada (front), Joseph (top right) and Annie (second right, back row) |

1837 Born in Marple 1849 Brother John died aged 19 1851 Samuel worked as a weaver in Marple 1852 Brother Charles died aged 24 1855 Brother George died aged 32 1861 Brother Edwin died aged 17 1865 Mother Betty died aged 65 1871 Samuel was station master at Cheadle Hulme 1877 Registered the death of father Edward Waine 1881 Samuel was a railway goods checker at Lane's end Cheadle 1891 and 1901 Samuel a coals agent at Station Rd, Cheadle Mosely 1916 Died in Cheadle aged 79. Buried in the grave of his daughter Helen who died aged 27 |

Samuels's son Joseph Edward was born in 1866 in Redditch, Lancashire.
He married Amy Garforth and they had five children in Cheshire, Adrian, Henry, William, Norman and Bessie (Norman and Bessie pictured right)
